While getting my Windows 7 laptop setup to be a development system, I noticed that IIS is not an option for install with Windows 7 (as with Vista, XP, 2000, etc.). After a quick Google search I found the following Technet article at Microsoft. There are no instructions for Windows 7, but I found using the Vista guidelines work for Windows 7 too.
One more thing checked off my Windows 7 install list.
