Sol was recommended to me by my wife’s cousin, and what a great recommendation. This Mexican import is a great, light tasting lager that is easily the best Mexican beer I have had. It compares with Tecate and Dos Equis. Mild in flavor, with a crisp bite on the way down. This will make a great summer picnic brew. The beer pours a clear golden yellow, with a fizzy white head.
I highly recomend this beer, and for those of you still drinking Corona (shudder.), consider this alternative. I am going to get another right now.

Peroni Nastro Azzurro
Another beer I had at Da Vinci’s Pub was Peroni Nastro Azzuro at the advice of a colleague. It poured a clear gold color with a tall, bright white head. This beer had a definite macro brew ‘nothing special’ flavor. The only difference between this and other mass produced American lagers is that this lager has a slight hop finish at the end.

My friend at the local beer distributor gave me a sample of John Labatt Signature Porter and Red Amber Lager. Both were very decent beers that I would drink again if given the opportunity.

I had this beer at Outback Steakhouse. Decent beer but had very little head. At least it came in a brown bottle. I would get it again.

This showed up at the beverage store and I decided to try it. I am very skeptical about beers in green bottles, but there good beers in green bottles, e.g., Pilsner Urquell, so I do not avoid them completely. I poured this beer into an English pint glass. It pours a pale golden yellow with a white head. This beer has a grassy taste and aroma. Not a great beer, but enjoyable on a hot summer day.

I had this beer at Outback Steakhouse. Nothing special about it. I have not been real impressed with Australian beers. I guess every country has their own brand of Budweiser.

I have had Carlsberg before, but never posted about it. It’s the best Danish beer that I have had. I enjoy drinking this beer in the spring and summer. I would recommend it to anyone. I poured it into a lager glass. It pours a beautiful golden with a great white head.

While sitting here waiting for Monday Night Football to resume from halftime, I started listening to Dust.wav by Perpetuous Dreamer (Armin van Buuren) and I thought how Sam Adams has not made a poor beer. I have had several varieties of Sam Adams over the years and can’t think of a single variety that I did not agree with. Thank you Jim Koch and the other brewmasters at Sam Adams for crafting such an excellent product.
Over the years I have had (of the top of my head):
1. Boston Lager
2. Boston Ale
3. Cream Stout
4. Pale Ale
5. Winter Lager
6. Brown Ale
7. Hefeweizen
8. Black Lager
9. Scotch Ale
10. Octoberfest
11. Honey Porter
12. Summer Ale
